As many of you know, WordPress is good for making a lot of different pages, I love this but it doesn't mean that we always have to use it.
Let's imagine that we want to make a very simple blog or a static page.
Is it advisable to use WordPress? I do not think so.
The tool we are going to use in this course is Hugo
Hugo is going to allow us to create a website very quickly and we are also not going to use databases, with the increase in speed of our page.
We will see that Hugo will give us many things that WordPress does not give us.

What are we going to achieve using this tool?

What is the first thing I should keep in mind when choosing a tool to make my web pages?
One of the things that I must first analyze is the cost of accommodation. (The hosting)
With Hugo, the costs for accommodation will be "0", that is, I will not have to pay anything. And note that I am talking about a Professional web hosting, you will be able to see how fast your pages go, much faster than WordPress.
On the other hand, as you know, using WordPress hosting has a cost.
E.g. WPEngine It costs us $35 dollars a month, there are other cheaper ones that can cost us around 100 euros a year.
Another advantage that Hugo has is its loading speed, loading speed is becoming more important every day to achieve good SEO.

If we go to the elements inspector of our chrome browser, go to Audits and click on “Run audits”, you can see how well it qualifies for SEO.
Although it is true that in WordPress we can achieve good loading speeds, we need quality hosting (high price) and work well on the performance of the web.
Another thing that we also need to keep in mind when using WordPress is vulnerabilities.
We always have to be on the lookout forupdate the plugins since every so often new vulnerabilities come out with which they could hack our pages.
WordPress uses PHP as a programming language and it is also the most used tool in the world to make a website. This causes vulnerabilities to come out continuously that hackers take advantage of.

For this reason we must be very careful and attentive to have our plugins updated and thus avoid problems with our website.
This is one of the reasons for passing our website to Hugo.
Hugo is a static page generator so what we upload to our server are html pages so we don't have the problem of vulnerabilities.
Not everything is good things, we have to be very clear about what type of website to use Hugo for.
Is Hugo useful for all types of websites?
No. I will explain to you what web pages we can use Hugo for.
With Hugo we can make company pages that change little and do not need to have dynamic content.
It will also allow us to make blogs, landing pages, etc…

The templates are very professional, load very fast and are optimized for SEO
On the other hand, there are some types of page for which it is not recommended to use Hugo or it cannot be used directly, such as Stores, since the stores have Dynamic content.

To make our website in Hugo we will have to use some commands in the console and change the usual way we use in WordPress but it is worth it 😉
And also, remember, you can host your website professionally for free, so the only cost you will have is the domain 😉
