Improve the search page in Listify with Listing Labels

As we have already seen in the Listify tutorials, we have two ways to build the search engine in Listify.

On the one hand, the one that comes standard and then if we want something more advanced we can use FacetWP.

What's the matter? That the default search engine is very basic and FacetWP may be too advanced.

If you find yourself in this situation do not worry, we have an intermediate option.

Thanks to the Listing Labels extension we can add search fields to our standard search engine, thus making it more advanced but without going crazy.

Specifically, we are going to improve the Listify search page, not the search engine that comes on the home page, that is, this screen:

search engine without listing labels

To a page like the following:

Improve search page in Listify with Listing Labels 1

Being able to add as many filters as we want of that type.

What we will do is add the possibility of adding labels by which we can filter.

All this thanks to a Listing Labels plugin that you have available in the Premium Zone

If you are not subscribed to the Premium Zone you can give sign up for €10/month here

Once the plugin is installed and activated we will see a new option within listings:

Listing labels menu

If we click we will see the typical page to add a category.

From this page we can add the labels by which we need to filter in our search engine or we can do it directly from the edition of a specific list

Listing Labels Choose

From this very moment we can filter by this label within the search engine.

But we can do more things, we can make the labels it has appear in the list itself and it looks like this:

Labels inside listing

In addition, each of the tags can be made to be a peer link that filters directly by that tag.

To achieve this we have to go to Listinga —> Settings —> Labels

and activate Enale label Archives

That way we convert the tags into links.

And for the labels to appear in the list we will have to add the Widget Listify – listings: labels in the Individual Listing area – Main Content

Listify Listing labels

In addition to being able to add the tags from the administration area, a new field will appear on the add listings page so that the user who is uploading a listing can add said tags:

add listing labels

I hope it has been useful to you 😉
