Send a Thank You Email to a Comment in WordPress (video tutorial)

Subscribe to my channel:

Not all visitors to our blog are the same, there are those who like the content of our website, there are those who do not like it, there are those who leave comments and there are those who, no matter how much they follow us, do not leave a comment, not even shot.

Having visitors who leave us comments is gold because they enrich our blog and also get other visitors who did not plan to comment to do so.

For this reason we must pamper all those visitors who leave us comments.

Yesterday I discovered the Thank Me Later plugin that you can download from here. With this plugin you can prepare an automatic email to thank each person who has left a comment. Why do? For several reasons:

- Just for thanks: If someone has bothered to write a comment, it doesn't hurt to let them know how important it is to us and thank them.

– In addition to gratitude you can also do it out of selfishness since that email will surely make that person return to your blog and comment again in the future

- Humanize you: The Internet has many good things but it is a cold and too "anonymous" medium. If you send an email and thank them for their comment, you get closer to the visitor and you can get much more Commitment what the americans say 😉

Installing the plugin is not difficult at all and once you have it activated, a new item that says “Thank Me Later” will appear in the side menu of the administration area.

It allows you to create as many different emails as you want. Why would we want to want more than one? Because it allows us to create different emails depending on the label or category in which it is commented. This way we can personalize much more the email that we are going to send.

When editing the email that we are going to send, we can configure the following options:

– Name of Who sends it: You can put the name of the blog or yours. I advise you to use the blog so that the user knows where the email is coming from.

– Email from: That is, from which email is sent and the visitor can respond

- Email subject: I recommend that you put the title of the post and the name of the blog here, don't worry, it comes like this by default and allows you to use wildcards to add the dynamic content you need

- Message: It is the Body of the email, it also comes with a default text and it comes in handy.

– Send after a while: How much time do we want to pass since the user has written the comment and we send him the email. By default it puts half an hour but you can change it to whatever you want

– Categories of the blog you have commented on: emails are only sent to articles in certain categories.

– Tags of the blog you have commented on: that emails are only sent to articles with certain labels

– Specific publication: Only certain items

As you can see, it is a very simple but highly configurable plugin.

  1. I was looking for something for my personal project. I don't have it up and running yet, but it doesn't have much left. I will take note of this plugin in addition to all the advice you offer in all your articles.

Thank you so much for helping people like me learn so much about WordPress.
Greetings and I hope to receive an email thanking you for this comment.
