Pretty link, How to hide Affiliate links

Hello guys,

Today I am going to talk about a WordPress plugin that is very useful if you want to promote a membership offer but you want your link to be friendlier, prettier, and more trustworthy.

pretty-link-hide-link

Once we have installed the prettylink plugin (if you don't know how install a plugin you can watch the video here) a new option will appear in the side menu within the administration of our wordpress:

pretty-link-menu-side

If we click on "Pretty link" we access all the options as you can see on this screen:

screen-pretty-link

We click on "add a pretty link" and access the screen in which we add the link that we want to mask and the internal url that we want to create:

pretty-link-config

We configure the following options:

Redirect type: we mark the option 301 (Permanent)

TargetURL: We add the real url where we want to direct visitors

Prettylink: We add the internal url that visitors will see but when they click they will go to the url added in "Target URL"

SEOOptions: I mark all affiliate links as “NoFollow”

And in this easy way we create friendly and much more visual external links in the eyes of users.

This plugin has statistics for each url so it is also great for us to know which link visitors are clicking on.

For example, if from the same external link I create two different links with pretty link, you can see which of the two is more used and which is working better. This plugin is very powerful and the uses you can give it depend on your imagination.

I hope it has been useful to you 😉

All the best

Oscar
