How to backup and restore a website made with WordPress

Hello guys,

Many of you ask me how to backup and restore a WordPress website or how to move a website from one domain to another.

In this video I explain it step by step:

In the video I use a file to quickly change the name of the old domain to the name of the new domain.

If you want the file I'll give it to you but in exchange for being my subscriber on the channel 😉
– First become a subscriber to me YouTube channel from here
– Leave a comment on this article and I’ll send you the file by email 😉

If you are a Premium user, you have the file available in the download area.

The process of restoring a website manually is not difficult, although if you haven't done it it can never be confusing until you get the hang of it.

Although there are plugins to do it more easily, I think it is important to know WordPress inside and it seems to me that it is not something so difficult as to be afraid of it.

The process consists of the following steps:

– Copy the files of the web to be transferred and paste them in the hosting or domain folder where we want the web to work.
– If we already have a working WordPress on the destination domain, we copy all the files except for the wp-config.php file. This file has the connection to the database and we can take advantage of it.
– Through phpMyAdmin we export the database of the website to be moved and import it into the database of the domain where we are going to move the website
– Thanks to the file that I give you, we modify the name of the domain within the database of the destination website.

If everything has gone well at this point, you already have the website moved or restored without any problem 😉

I hope you have been useful.

All the best
Oscar
