If so, this tutorial is for you 😉
Suddenly, several friends of mine who use SiteGround they are receiving notices that their website is consuming too many resources.
In some cases, the web has even been disabled due to this excessive use.
And instead of seeing your website you see a nice notice that says «The site is currently unavailable».
In addition, as is the case, if it catches you at an important time of sales you can imagine the scare.
Don't worry, we are going to solve it easily.
Fix excessive CPU usage on SiteGround if you use Mailpoet
I needed to talk to Siteground support in order to fix the problem.
Subscribe to my channel:
shared with me this document of Mailpoet where they warn of the incompatibility and how to solve it.
Step 1 Change Mailpoet cron options
The first thing we have to do is enter your WordPress –> Mailpoet –> Settings:
By default comes the option The visitors of your website (recommended) but you have to change it to Server Cron (Linux Cron) as you can see in this screenshot:
And Save Settings
Step 02 Add Cron configuration in Siteground
Now we have to transfer the data that appears in the previous screenshot to the Siteground configuration.
We enter inside Siteground –> Websites –> Site Tools
Within Site Tools, in the left menu we click on Developers –> Cron Jobs
Within the Cron Jobs we add the data provided by Mailpoet
And of course you save.
And that's it, your website will stop consuming excessive resources and you can continue to be happy with your website.
Very useful. You have solved a good problem for me. Thank you very much!
